The website’s code, text and design, and Arkyn OS’s own build tooling and configuration, belong to ProSolve Ltd and may not be copied, modified or redistributed without our written permission — except the third-party files included in them, which keep their own licences (listed below).
Arkyn’s own source is closed during the beta. We intend to publish it at public release, once the repository is ready; the terms will be announced then.
You may quote short passages with a link back to this site; this is our written permission for that use only. For anything else, ask us.
Arkyn artwork
The Sovrant T logo, the Arkyn wallpapers (the T and the eight-image pack: Nebula, Outrun, Monolith, Constellation, Blueprint, Circuit, Frosted and Topographic) and the boot and installer artwork shown on this site are by s0vrant. The Sovrant T, every work showing it, and the name “Sov” belong to s0vrant and are used by ProSolve Ltd with permission; they are not licensed for reuse. They identify Arkyn OS: please don’t use them in a way that suggests something is Arkyn when it isn’t.
Media
The login chime you can play in the interactive tour is derived from “Russian Snow Camo” by Drake Stafford (album Turtle Warnings, 2018), from the Free Music Archive, licensed CC BY 4.0. Changes: excerpted and processed into a short startup chime. Arkyn Setup in the OS plays the full track, re-encoded.

Build-time only (nothing sent to your browser): node-qrcode (MIT) draws the donation QR codes; sharp (Apache-2.0) optimises images; @astrojs/sitemap (MIT).
Arkyn OS
Arkyn OS is a remaster of Ubuntu: almost everything in it is third-party free software, each part under its own licence. On an installed system, the terms for every package are in /usr/share/doc/<package>/copyright; Flatpak apps carry theirs in their Flathub metadata. Some apps Arkyn installs are proprietary (Steam, Discord, Claude Code) and come from their publishers under their own terms.
Trademarks
Arkyn OS is not affiliated with or endorsed by Canonical Ltd. or System76. Ubuntu is a trademark of Canonical Ltd. COSMIC is developed by System76; “Sov” is Arkyn’s name for its COSMIC desktop, not a fork, and belongs to s0vrant. GrapheneOS, Proton, Mullvad, LibreWolf, VSCodium, Steam, Discord, Claude and GitHub are the names or trademarks of their respective owners, used here only to say what Arkyn works with.
