Before flashing

  • sha256sum ArkynOS-2.1.0-amd64.iso prints exactly the published hash.
  • The stick was written raw (dd or Etcher) and verified.

Boot (Secure Boot on)

  • The stick boots straight into the Arkyn splash: no menu, no countdown.
  • The splash shows the Sovrant T with “Secure. Private. Yours.” beneath it.
  • The live desktop starts and the installer opens by itself (Arkyn Setup does not).

Install

  • Encrypt system is pre-ticked; unticking it shows the red warning page.
  • The “Your setup” page appears after Users; the slideshow shows “Did you know?” tips and a “Support Arkyn” slide.
  • The “Thank you” page appears before Finish.
  • Restarting goes straight to the disk passphrase prompt.

First login

  • Arkyn Setup opens with music; the music button mutes it and it stays muted next time.
  • Fingerprint enrolment works (if you have a reader); afterwards sudo accepts a finger.
  • Appearance shows nine wallpapers; picking one applies it.
  • Pair a phone: copy on the laptop and paste on the phone; tap “Send clipboard” on the phone and paste on the laptop.
  • The battery menu in the panel shows Max charge; toggling it switches between 80 % and 100 %.

Installed system

  • Bluetooth is off at first; turning it on survives a restart.
  • sov prints the logo and slogan; sov tip, sov donate and sov web work; fastfetch ends with the slogan.
  • Sov Settings › Wallpaper lists only the Arkyn wallpapers.
  • Apps from the folders start (Tor Browser, GIMP, Papers, LibreOffice Calc, Pika Backup…).
  • sudo apt update shows no W: or E: lines.
  • ip link shows a random MAC (the permaddr differs from the current address).
  • Suspend/resume, external display, sound, brightness (whatever you have).
