VPNs

Arkyn ships both Proton VPN and Mullvad VPN, each from its maker’s own signed repository, and both update automatically. Nothing is signed in: use your own account.

• Proton VPN — app library › Privacy. Sign in with your Proton account.
• Mullvad VPN — app library › Privacy. Log in with your account number (Arkyn Setup’s Accounts page can do it for you).

Connect only one at a time

Both manage WireGuard routes and firewall rules. Running two at once gives unpredictable routing.

DNS while on a VPN

Arkyn sends DNS lookups to Quad9 over TLS. When a VPN is connected, the VPN pushes its own resolver and Arkyn uses it — that is intentional, and it is why encrypted DNS is set to opportunistic rather than strict. See Network privacy.
