What Arkyn doesn't do
- It is not an anonymity tool. Arkyn reduces what your computer gives away by default. For anonymity, use Tor Browser (included) and learn its limits.
- It can’t protect a running, unlocked machine from everything. Encryption protects the disk while the computer is off.
- It doesn’t audit every app. Apps come from Ubuntu, their makers and Flathub; Arkyn reviewed which to include, not their source code.
- Updates are package-level. New Arkyn defaults need a newer ISO for now.
- The desktop comes from an unofficial archive that updates automatically.
- Hardware testing is limited — one ThinkPad and a Pixel so far, plus virtual machines.
- No PGP-signed releases yet. For now, verify the ISO with its SHA-256 checksum from two independent places.
